CASE STUDY 1: Building a Successful Outsourcing Model
OBJECTIVE
One of the nation's largest home improvement retailers wanted to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and elevate their advertising to achieve industry standards by outsourcing their print advertising to a single vendor.
SOLUTION
The retailer outsourced all of their creative, color and retouching, page production, and prepress to GA Communications. PureRed Creative has also been selected as one of their photography vendors. GA hired 35 of the retailer's employees and began production in a new full-service facility near the retailer's headquarters. To achieve the objectives set forth by this new client, GA has implemented new technologies and solutions, and, because of GA's retail knowledge and expertise, provided and suggested process improvements that they would have otherwise been unable to discover.
RESULTS
As a result of the partnership with GA, the retailer has been able to realize significant cost savings, a reduction in schedule times, increased efficiencies, and greater creative flexibility. Although the results are still ongoing, the client's VP of Marketing has called the transition "precedent setting."
